In 1997, the Roosters continued to go from strength to strength, competing in the 12-team Australian Rugby League competition for the Optus Cup. The tri-colours finished the season strong, securing fourth place and generating excitement as they approached the finals. Unfortunately, their grand final aspirations were dashed in a heartbreaking preliminary final, where they lost by a narrow field goal. This jersey embodies the iconic Roosters tri-colours of navy, red, and white, featuring a bold horizontal stripe design that reflects the spirit of the era. The 1997 season stands out as a significant chapter for the Roosters, showcasing their resilience and competitive drive.
